The Community Health Centre, located in Barrington Passage, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia has an outstanding opportunity for Family Physicians to join a busy rural practice which provides medical services to the Municipality of Barrington as well as other surrounding areas.

The area is currently served by 3 full time physicians, a part time physician, a nurse practioner, a chiropractor, and a physiotherapist.  Medical offices are staffed and furnished.  Reasonable overhead.  Incentives are available for new physicians coming to the area.

Barrington is located on Nova Scotia's scenic South Shore, 2 1/2 hours' drive from Halifax, with excellent access to a wide range of
outdoor/indoor activities, good schools, and friendly people.

Roseway Hospital is located just outside of Shelburne, approximately 1/2 hour from the Health Centre, and the Yarmouth Regional Hospital is approximately 3/4 hour away.  Both hospitals are operated by the District 2 Health Authority which provides health care in Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby Counties.

COMMUNITY DESCRIPTION

Shelburne County, on Nova Scotia's beautiful South Shore, includes Cape Sable Island, which has the most southern saltwater beaches in Canada. The County is connected to the rest of the province by a 100 series highway and is part of the scenic Lighthouse Route.

Halifax is only a two and one-half hours' drive.

The County has two municipalities (Barrington and Shelburne) and three incorporated towns (Clark's Harbour, Lockeport, and Shelburne).
